As part of promoting both North African culture and Electronic Music, Eddisco Records brought the best out of these two worlds through its next release.After brilliant edits made for true gems like Ahmed Fakroun's Nisyan, the very talented Tunisian Producer/DJ Khemir chose Malik Adouane's legendary piece, N'touma, to make it into an absolute Italo Disco hit while keeping its original Raï and Sufi spirit.
For those who don't know Malik Adouane, you're missing a lot. For most selectors, Malik is one of the first - if not the first - artists to mix Raï with House Music in the 80s in a musically boiling New York. Back in that time, inspiration hit Malik's soul when he listened to Mark Kamins's mixing the Algerian National Anthem in a House Music set in NY. He collaborated with the latter to release, After Rai, an album made into a whole genre, where "N'touma" was born.
